Yuji Wakimoto, MD

Dr. Yuji Wakimoto is a pediatric mental health provider at Dayton Children's. He cares for children and teens facing emotional and behavioral challenges. Dr. Wakimoto helps kids with concerns like anxiety and depression, supporting them as they learn to manage feelings, build coping skills and get back to living the life they want. Care focuses on helping each child function at home, at school and in everyday life, with clear, family-friendly guidance every step of the way.

Dr. Wakimoto believes the best care happens through partnership. He works closely with patients and families to understand what matters most, sharing in both challenges and progress. Dr. Wakimoto is especially passionate about helping children with mood concerns and high anxiety feel more confident and supported. What motivates Dr. Wakimoto is seeing kids make progress that once felt out of reach. Outside of work, he loves running and watching track and field, particularly distance races!
