About Maria Cecilia Rivera Amisola

Professional Statement

Dr. Maria Rivera-Amisola is part of the developmental pediatrics team at Dayton Children’s, supporting children with developmental, behavioral and learning differences. They partner with families to create care plans that help each child reach their full potential. She is also an assistant professor of pediatrics at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Working in the field of Developmental Pediatrics has always been more just than a job to Dr. Rivera-Amisola – it is extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time, and cannot imagine herself doing anything else. She shared, "I chose my specialty because children with developmental disabilities have always had a special place in my heart. I believe that individuals with different abilities have their own sets of smarts and unique gifts. In fact, working with them tends to bring out the best in the people who truly care for them, and I know that from experience."
