Professional Statement
Dr. Elizabeth Nickell is a pediatric optometrist who cares for kids’ vision from the first years of life through the teen years. She provides pediatric eye exams and helps find and treat issues that can affect learning and play, such as amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (an eye turn). Dr. Nickell also offers myopia management to help slow the progression of nearsightedness and fits contact lenses, including specialty contact lenses, when they can help a child see and feel confident.
Dr. Nickell strives to be a trusted care partner for families, explains each step in clear, kid-friendly language, and builds a plan that fits the whole child—home, school and sports. A high school sports injury sparked her interest in eye care, and that experience still fuels a commitment to help kids reach their best visual potential. When she is not caring for kids’ vision, Dr. Nickell enjoys time with her family, staying active and baking at home, especially perfecting her sourdough.
