About Katherine Winner

Professional Statement

Dr. Katherine Winner is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who cares for children and teens facing mental health challenges. She works with young people experiencing severe depression, anxiety, thoughts of self‑harm, emotional crises, and other concerns that require a safe and supportive inpatient environment. Dr. Winner focuses on helping patients feel understood and supported during a difficult time.

Dr. Winner believes early, compassionate care can change a child’s path forward. She partners closely with families and care teams to help children build coping skills, manage intense emotions, and begin their path toward recovery. What Dr. Winner finds most rewarding is the opportunity to make a lasting difference in her patients' lives. She loves seeing her patients make progress, knowing that the care they received at Dayton Children's helped them gain confidence and build the skills they need to thrive long-term.
