About Irma Liezl Reyes

Professional Statement

Irma Reyes, DO is a pediatric neurologist at Dayton Children's Hospital. She is also an assistant professor of child neurology at Boonshoft School of Medicine, Wright State University. Dr. Reyes was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated college from the University of Illinois Chicago. She then completed her pediatric residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. After completing her residency in child neurology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in California, Dr. Reyes joined the pediatric neurology practice at Dayton Children's. Dr. Reyes is board certified in neurology with special qualifications in child neurology. When asked why she chose to specialize in neurology she responded, "neurology involves a plethora of interesting pathology, and it is a field that continues to grow with advanced research and technology". During her time at Dayton Children's, Dr. Reyes has developed a special interest in treating patients with neuromuscular disorders. Alongside her peers in cardiology and pulmonary medicine, Dr. Reyes developed a multidisciplinary neuromuscular clinic to provide patients with a team of specialists with expertise in chronic conditions affecting the muscles and nerves. One of her favorite things about working with children is how resilient and fun they are! Outside of the hospital, Dr. Reyes enjoys dancing, working out, watching movies, trying new restaurants, traveling, and of course, spending time with her husband and close family and friends.

I am so glad I found Dr Reyeas for my grandson. If you don't understand something she explains it so we do understand. I would not go to any other neurologist but Dr Reyeas for my grandson. She's the best in my opinion. Thank you for everything you do for my grandson Dr Reyeas

We were so pleased to finally be heard, to be seen as patients by Dr. Irma because my daughter has struggled with this for years and we just moved to Ohio recently and the doctors here have seen her issues and have not gaslit us. They've reassured us that we would find a treatment plan and find care, and we're so pleased to actually have wonderful immediate care from physical therapy to orthopedics to physical medicine and now neurology. It has been such a relief in that the tests that need to be ran are going to be ran, and we're so grateful. Thank you.

Providers seems to need care for the need of my child. Seemed that what was bothering my child didn't matter and had no real answers. Provider suggested we come back in 3 months but basically said it was important enough or serious enough to be seen by her that we would see her NP

It took us years to figure out what was going on with my daughter and she never gave up. And recently we got our diagnosis and it made everything fall into place. Makes life a lot easier now that we know what's going on so we can now work with it. And even though it was a difficult case, she stepped through.

Dr. Reyes is fantastic and does a great job listening to our concerns, successes with medicines, etc. She takes her time with us and makes us feel valued. Dr. Reyes is also great with getting back to us via my chart between visits when we have questions. She has been a huge part in the success of our child physically.
