Professional Statement
Heidi Bruner is a child and adolescent therapist at Dayton Children’s. She provides therapy for children and teens who have experienced trauma, abuse and significant life stressors. Heidi uses positive, play-based and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches to help young people process difficult experiences, build confidence and find hope for the future. She is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming environment where children and teens feel heard, supported and empowered to work through challenges at their own pace.
Heidi enjoys working with children and adolescents because of their resilience, determination and willingness to accept guidance and be vulnerable when it may be difficult to trust others. She values being present during tough moments and celebrating successes along the way. Heidi partners closely with families, offering guidance as they support their child, navigate ongoing abuse investigations and connect with community resources. Her goal is to help children, teens and families feel supported, understood and hopeful as they move forward together.
