About Elizabeth Anne Mitchell

Professional Statement

Elizabeth Mitchell, MD, is a Pediatric Cardiologist at Dayton Children's Hospital. Dr. Mitchell was raised in Cincinnati, OH. She graduated magna cum laude from Loyola Univeristy of Chicago in Illinois. She then completed her medical school education at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She completed both her pediatric residency and Cardiology fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, with advanced training in fetal cardiology. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Mitchell joined the pediatric cardiology practice at Dayton Children's Hospital. Dr. Mitchell is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. When asked why she chose to specialize in cardiology she responded "I enjoy the challenge of cardiology - every patient is unique and different." One of her favorite things about pediatric cardiology is the opportunity to care for a patient, and their family, before they are even born through fetal cardiology.

We saw Dr. Mitchell for my son, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was so gentle and kind, really took her time explaining everything in a way I could understand, and made sure I knew all of our options. She gave such thoughtful, expert advice and was so considerate of my feelings through the whole visit. I left feeling calm and reassured instead of anxious — which means so much as a parent. I can’t recommend her enough!

The provider and nurses were amazing. The ultrasound tech was even great. It's not easy doing things that need too be done with a Wiggly two month old but everyone was amazing and very understanding. Never did I feel like we were a bother. The nurse even held my child so I could use the restroom.

Dr.Mitchell is a kind, caring doctor. She took exceptional care of my son, who was referred to her for a heart murmur. I left her office feeling knowledgeable about my son's condition. All the other staff were very welcoming and nice. The Troy location was great. I would highly recommend Dr. Mitchell and her staff.

As an inpatient employee at Dayton Children’s, I have not experienced Dayton Children’s outpatient services before, but I was thoroughly impressed with how efficient this appointment was. We had an echo, EKG & were able to have our results reviewed with Dr. Mitchell in an hour and 10 minutes. Everyone we interacted with from check in to the appointment ending was wonderful & made my toddler feel at ease. I could not recommend their outpatient cardiology enough!

Our expectation of Dayton Children's Hospital is high, and it is typically met whenever we have to see a provider or visit the hospital. This time was no exception. Our experience was excellent.
