Courtney Esau, MD

Dr. Courtney Esau is a pediatric critical care provider at Dayton Children's. She cares for children with serious or life-threatening illnesses, helping them through some of the most critical moments of their care. Dr. Esau is passionate about supporting the whole child and helping the body function as well as possible when an organ becomes sick. Her approach focuses on clear communication, compassionate care and helping families feel informed and supported every step of the way.

Drawn to pediatrics by the remarkable resilience of children, Dr. Esau feels privileged to help kids heal and grow stronger each day. She partners closely with families, listening to their concerns and working together to create the best possible plan of care for each child. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Esau enjoys traveling with her husband and exploring new places around the world. After a recent trip to Australia, they are looking forward to future adventures in Japan and South Africa.
