Professional Statement
Dr. Carly Schweier is a pediatric psychologist at Dayton Children's. She helps children and teens understand their feelings and learn skills to feel better, and often tells patients she is a “doctor for feelings.” Dr. Schweier specializes in supporting children who have experienced trauma, including abuse and neglect, and in helping children with tics. She uses evidence‑based therapies such as trauma‑focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF‑CBT) and comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics (CBIT), always tailoring care to each child’s needs and stage of development.
Dr. Schweier partners closely with parents and caregivers, creating a supportive space where families feel heard and guided through the healing process. She is drawn to pediatrics because of the resilience she sees in children every day. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, visiting theme parks and reading.
