Professional Statement
Dr. Brett A. Fields is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Dayton Children's Hospital. He helps children and teens better understand their emotions, behaviors and mental health. He works with young people experiencing behavior problems, emotional outbursts, school struggles, or signs of anxiety, depression or ADHD. Dr. Fields is passionate about helping families make sense of what their child is experiencing and finding a path forward together.
Dr. Fields approaches every patient and family with openness, respect and a genuine commitment to seeing the whole person—not just a diagnosis. His goal is to create a space where children, teens and caregivers feel heard, understood and valued. By listening carefully and partnering with families, he helps develop care plans that support each child’s growth and wellbeing at home, at school and in everyday life. Outside of work, Dr. Fields is passionate about music and enjoys listening, playing and recording. Piano, drums and guitar are among his favorite instruments to play.

Dr. Fields spends as much time as we need with my child. He listens to everything. He is very, very kind, and we trust him immensely. And in our opinion, he is the best behaviorist doctor there is that we have ever seen, and we trust him 100% with our child.

Dr Fields is a wonderful Dr. he is so great with our child. He works with us on his meds. We love having him for a Dr. We drive 2.5 hours to see him so that should tell you what a fantastic Dr he is.
