Professional Statement
Dr. Bethany Cooper is part of the pediatric psychology team at Dayton Children’s, helping children and families navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. She provides evidence-based care to support mental health and overall well-being, with special expertise in sleep and behavioral management strategies, autism assessment and intervention, parent training and consultation and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Dr. Cooper earned her Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree from Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology. She completed her internship at Indiana University School of Medicine and a fellowship at Dayton Children’s, where she now provides comprehensive psychological assessments for a variety of developmental concerns including autism, intellectual disability and ADHD. In addition, she offers parent management training and behavioral supports to strengthen family relationships and promote positive development.
Dr. Cooper chose her specialty because she believes that proper assessment and intervention provide families with hope and long-lasting strategies to help their children thrive. She loves working with kids because they are honest, resilient and adaptable to change.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening and exploring new restaurants and recipes.
