About Alex Green

Professional Statement

Dr. Alex Green is part of the pediatric gastroenterology team at Dayton Children’s, specializing in digestive and nutritional health. He works closely with families to diagnose and manage conditions so kids can grow and feel their best. Dr. Green has special expertise in pediatric neurogastroenterology and motility, focusing on how the brain and gut communicate and how well the gut moves. He enjoys thinking outside the box to find solutions that improve each child’s quality of life.

After earning his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Green completed his pediatric residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. He continued his training with a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and advanced motility at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Green also serves as an assistant professor at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.

An active member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS), Dr. Green is dedicated to advancing care for children with complex GI concerns. He chose Dayton Children’s because it feels like home and values the hospital’s commitment to providing the best care for kids in Dayton and the surrounding communities.

Outside of work, Dr. Green enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music and cooking.
